What We Believe

God

We believe that God eternally exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, sharing the same divine essence, nature, character, and attributes. He is the one true God, without beginning and without end, self-existent, omnipotent, the Creator of the universe, who made all things for his glory.

The Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Through the miracle of the virgin conception, he assumed a completely human nature without diminishing his full divine nature. He lived a sinless life, died on a cross for the sins of the world, and rose again. Now he is seated in heaven at the right hand of the Father.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the personhood and deity of the Holy Spirit. He restrains sin, convicts unbelievers, and regenerates, cleanses, seals and indwells believers. The Holy Spirit teaches believers the word of God, empowers them in the spiritual life, and progressively transforms them to reflect the character of Christ.

The Scriptures

We believe that God the Holy Spirit inspired the authors of Scripture, so that the 66 books of the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, constitute the complete, holy, and inerrant word of God as it was written in the autographs. We believe that the Bible is the final authority on everything it addresses.

Man

We believe that God created man on the sixth literal day of creation. Adam and Eve were created by God in his own image and likeness, possessing mentality, emotion, self-consciousness and volition. Through Adam’s sin of disobedience, he and all of his descendants fell under divine condemnation and suffered spiritual separation from God. As a result, we all deserve eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. We believe that mankind is wholly unable to remedy his spiritual condition by his own work, effort, or worthiness.

Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross for the sins of every human who has ever lived without exception. Because of his substitutionary death on the cross, anyone who believes in him receives eternal life as a free gift of God’s grace. Those who have trusted in Jesus Christ can never lose their salvation. When believers die, their souls immediately enter the presence of the Lord in heaven.

The Spiritual Life

We believe that the spiritual life involves progressive sanctification by the Holy Spirit, so that the believer’s life is conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ. All believers are called to participate in evangelism, discipleship, and the work of the ministry in the local church.
